SPANISH FORK – Farmer’s Market

The Farmer’s Market began Saturday, July 30 in the City Center parking lot and runs every Saturday in August, September, and October ending on November 5. The Market is open from 8am to 1pm. The market is hosted by the Spanish Fork Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. This is a great place to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.

By law, the farmer’s market is available to local produce growers to sell homegrown produce and food items only. Food items must be prepared according to standards set by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food.

SPANISH FORK – Utah County Fair

Utah County Fair makes its return to the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds this August. This county-wide celebration is certainly flavored with Spanish Fork’s hometown flair, making it an excellent way to wind the summer down and to prepare for a return to school and the coming autumn.

The County Fair dates are August 17 thru 20 and complete Fair information can be found at www.utcountyfair.com. You can also LIKE the County Fair on Facebook for instant feedback. Tickets for the ever-popular Demolition Derby are on sale at all Utah County Macey’s grocery stores.

PROVO – The southbound I-15 Provo Center Street off-ramp is temporarily closing

Beginning in early August, the southbound I-15 off-ramp to Provo Center Street will be closed for 90 days for reconstruction, The new ramp configuration will open in the fall, but until then, motorists wishing to access west Provo, Utah Lake State Park, and the airport should use University Parkway to Geneva Road as an alternate route. Downtown and east Provo can be accessed using the University Avenue exit.

SANTAQUIN Fastest Growing City in South Utah County – Meetings to Deal with Change

The 2010 census data is in, and Santaquin is officially the fastest growing city in South County, with a population of 9,128. That’s more than 88% growth since the 2000 census! Growth brings its own challenges, and Santaquin is hosting a series of 13 neighborhood meetings in the next two months to present information on the proposed water reclamation facility. The City will receive $6.35 million in grant funding for the waste water project if it is approved by the voters in November. Residents will also be asked for their input on the direction they would like to see the City take in the future. The meetings will be held most Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m., June 28 to September 1, in the Senior Center, 45 West 100 South. Residents will be invited by mail to a specific meeting, but are welcome at any.

SANTAQUIN Health Fair

Rocky Mountain Care staff will be providing a blood pressure clinic and respite care at the Santaquin Senior Center on Thursday, June 23 and Thursday, July 28 from 10:00 a.m.- Noon. This is an opportunity for caregivers to take a two-hour break and for anyone who are interested to have their blood pressure checked, etc. Staff will also be providing medical information and activities such as Bingo and manicures.
