June 15 through the 18th is Pleasant Grove City’s annual Strawberry Days Celebration. Each year we ask members from the Pleasant Grove community to help with the concessions at the rodeo and at the carnival. It is important to note as well that Strawberry Days is a non-profit organization. No one on the Strawberry Days Committee is paid; the celebration is run entirely by volunteers. All proceeds are put back into the celebration and the community. This year we are asking for any help and support that you can give. We especially need help preparing the strawberries Tuesday through Friday each night anytime after 4 p.m. at the Lions Club building at Center St. and 600 East in Pleasant Grove. Youth are welcome to participate as well. Thank you so much for all of your support in keeping these events family-friendly and affordable over the years!

The Lehi City Offices will be closed on Monday, July 4th. We hope everyone has a great and safe Holiday! If you haven’t made any plans yet, the Lehi Legacy Center is dyeing their pools blue and red! Also, Lehi has a great Fireworks display at Thanksgiving Point. If you go, please be mindful of all the construction going on in that area, so traffic may be delayed when leaving. We also suggest that you know about road closures in that area before you go. Did you know? UTAH RANKS #1 IN VOLUNTEERISM FOR THE 4th YEAR IN A ROW. In times of economic stress, do something rewarding, which helps others, as well as yourself. Now might be a great time in your life to volunteer at a local school. Help children simply by listening to them unlock the words in a book. Give an hour a week, or an hour a day, it’s up to you. Whatever time you have to give, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program can make it work for you. We will match you with a school near your home, at a time convenient to your schedule. If you are already volunteering at a school, please let me know, or if you would like a placement at one of the schools, please call me and I will find you one.
If you are 55+ and want to volunteer, contact Bonnie Wright at 229-3820 or Jean Hatch at 229-3810.
